For Phil Bryan of Top Road Dairy Ltd in Patetonga, owning the right sprayer isn’t just about convenience — it’s about staying in control of the farm.

Phil upgraded to the BA LS1300 after realising he’d outgrown his previous sprayer. With 100-odd hectares of maize requiring pre-emerge applications, new blocks overrun with broadleaf and thistles, and a farming operation that handles everything in-house — no contractors — timing is everything.

“We don’t have a contractor on farm — we do it ourselves. It’s just timing, you know. You’re in control of your own destiny.” Phil Bryan, Top Road Dairy Ltd in Patetonga

The LS1300 has delivered where it counts. Phil’s seen strong results tackling willow weed in swampy peat areas and rates the simplicity and flexibility of the system highly. Quick to use, easy to get onto when a weather window opens, and reliable straight from the box — it’s covered a lot of ground without missing a beat.

Two years in, Phil has no hesitation about the investment. “For our operation, it 100% pays for itself.”

His advice to anyone weighing up a sprayer purchase? Don’t fixate on the price tag. “I just wouldn’t look at the purchase price to start with — I’d look at the 10 years.”

The BA LS1300 is a 1300L slimline linkage sprayer built for pasture and cropping work, fitted with a Bertolini POLY2136 pump, Rota-Mix chemical induction hopper, SMART FLUSH system, and 4-stage filtration. Available with 12m or 15m Super X-2 hydraulic fold boom.
